About

Life to Life

Welcome! I have a deep passion for working with individuals who seek to live a more authentic, meaningful and happy life. Together, we will work to explore, clarify, and help you move toward the changes you want to make. You may be reaching out because you feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you are seeking a way to be more present and connected with yourself and others. Or perhaps you have past experiences that continue to negatively impact your quality of life. I seek to co-create a warm therapeutic space where we will work through these experiences together. I utilize dynamic and contemporary relational psychotherapy that is grounded in Relational-Cultural, Family Systems, Feminist and Trauma-Informed Theories. I seek to understand the intimate connection between culture, family and identity. While I have a wide range of clinical experience, I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing relationship concerns, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. Originally from New Zealand, I completed my masters and doctoral degrees in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas. I completed my predoctoral internship at Duke University, and worked at UNC-Chapel Hill prior to retiring from Emory University. I have been a clinician for over 25 years. I aim to create a therapeutic setting that is identity-affirming and inclusive for clients of all social locations, identities and backgrounds. If you are interested in seeing if I may be a good fit for your therapy goals, please reach out to me for a FREE 20 minute consultation. I am licensed in both Georgia (License # 03332) & North Carolina (License #2724). I can also practice telepsychology across judicial boundaries under PsyPact authorization (The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact). Currently, there are 40 member states https://psypact.org/page/psypactmap "In the face of repeated disconnections, people yearn even more for relationship, but their fear of engaging with others leads to keeping aspects of their experience out of connection. The individual alters herself or himself to fit in with the expectations and wishes of the other person, and in the process, the relationship itself loses authenticity and mutuality, becoming another source of disconnection." - Jean Baker Miller Payment & Superbills I am Credentialed with Aetna Insurance. I do not take other insurance companies but will provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients/clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Please notify me if you would like to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least1 business day before your scheduled service. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (470) 242-6026.
